Why Cycles – Big Iron Ti v2 aka Sylvester

Meet the newest addition to the Dirty Teeth family: Sylvester!!!

Check out this new bike day video” to see him in all his glory as I go through the ins and outs and give my first impression of the Big Iron v2 out of the box:

Sylvester will be my Winter daily driver, and snowy, bikepacking adventure-ready fatty.  Don’t fret, the Burple Beast is still in the family!  I handed him down to my daughter Lucy, and now we ride together – so much awesome 🙂

A big shout to Why Cycles and especially Fitzgerald’s Bikes for helping source the missing bits w/ supply chain issues, etc.  Below are all the build specs of the bone stock bike as I featured it in the video.  Complete bike weight including pedals is: 29lbs 14oz.  It’s basically the “GX Eagle Kit” – but certain parts were substituted due to availability, and they’re noted with an asterisk.  I’ve also taken the liberty to include accurate weights from my Park DS-2 Tabletop Scale for small components and my Park DS-1 for frame, complete bike, etc.  If you have any questions, please feel free to hit me up… The folks at Why and Fitzgerald’s Bikes (my local shop and Why Dealer) are super pleasant to deal with as well 🙂
